Today we take a few moments and honor this blessed calling!<\/p>\n<p>In our passage this morning, we find an anthem of praise dedicated to all of those virtuous women out there that have served behind the scenes often unnoticed and underappreciated. The writer starts this passage by explaining the incredible value of a virtuous woman. The word for virtue is conformity to the standard of right. \u2013 It is moral excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Our passage goes on to list the incredible characteristics of a virtuous woman. As we reflect upon this passage, let us honor our mothers for the virtues we recognize from our passage. There is also a challenge for you ladies to aspire to even greater virtue. Today as we reflect upon our loving mothers, let us together \u201carise up and call her blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I.\tThe virtuous woman is trusted by her husband<\/p>\n<p>A.\tShe is good for him<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:11-12<br \/>\n11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.<\/p>\n<p>1.\tHe does not need to worry about her<br \/>\n2.\tShe would not intentionally hurt him<\/p>\n<p>B.\tHis reputation is boosted by her virtue<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:23<br \/>\n23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.<\/p>\n<p>II.\tThe virtuous woman provides for her household needs.<\/p>\n<p>A.\tClothing<\/p>\n<p>1.\tMaterials<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:13<br \/>\n13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tWarmth<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:21<br \/>\n21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.<\/p>\n<p>3.\tBeauty<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:22<br \/>\n22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.<\/p>\n<p>B.\tFood<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:14<br \/>\n14 She is like the merchants\u2019 ships; she bringeth her food from afar.<\/p>\n<p>C.\tIncome<\/p>\n<p>1.\tAt home<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:16<br \/>\n16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tIn the market place<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:24<br \/>\n24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.<\/p>\n<p>III.\tThe virtuous woman works long hours.<\/p>\n<p>A.\tShe exhibits incredible strength<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:16<br \/>\n16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.<\/p>\n<p>B.\tShe rises early<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:15<br \/>\n15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.<\/p>\n<p>C.\tShe retires late<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:18<br \/>\n18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.<\/p>\n<p>D.\tShe is not idle<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:27<br \/>\n27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.<\/p>\n<p>IV.\tThe virtuous woman is kind hearted<\/p>\n<p>A.\tTo her household<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:15<br \/>\n15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.<\/p>\n<p>B.\tTo strangers<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:20<br \/>\n20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.<\/p>\n<p>C.\tIn her speech<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:26<br \/>\n26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.<\/p>\n<p>1.\tWisdom<br \/>\n2.\tKindness- comfort<\/p>\n<p>V.\tThe virtuous woman deserves praise!<\/p>\n<p>A.\tFrom her children<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:28<br \/>\n28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.<\/p>\n<p>B.\tPublicly<\/p>\n<p>1.\tBecause she fears the Lord<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:29-30<br \/>\n29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.  30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.<\/p>\n<p>2.\tBecause of her works<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:31<br \/>\n31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preached Mother\u2019s Day May 12, 2013 Proverbs 31:28 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
