A judge was\ninterviewing a woman regarding her pending divorce, and asked, “What are\nthe grounds for your divorce?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She replied,\n“About four acres and a nice little home in the middle of the property\nwith a stream running by.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“No,”\nhe said, “I mean what is the foundation of this case?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It is\nmade of concrete, brick and mortar,” she responded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I\nmean,” he continued, “What are your relations like?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I have\nan aunt and uncle living here in town, and so do my husband\u2019s parents.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said,\n“Do you have a real grudge?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“No,”\nshe replied, “We have a two-car carport and have never really needed\none.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Please,”\nhe tried again, “is there any infidelity in your marriage?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Yes,\nboth my son and daughter have stereo sets. We don\u2019t necessarily like the music,\nbut the answer to your questions is yes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ma\u2019am,\ndoes your husband ever beat you up?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Yes,”\nshe responded, “about twice a week he gets up earlier than I do.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, in\nfrustration, the judge asked, “Lady, why do you want a divorce?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Oh, I\ndon\u2019t want a divorce,” she replied. “I\u2019ve never wanted a divorce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My husband\ndoes. He said he can\u2019t communicate with me.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This evening\nwe are continuing our series on the family entitled \u201cSome Assembly\nRequired\u201d Tonight we cover that often\nmisunderstood and misused concept of wives submitting to their husbands. As we have read \u2026 it is in there\u2026 but how can this be? Husbands can be boneheads at times! Tonight we are going to study the Word and\ndiscover that there is a very sound answer when an exasperated wife asks \u201cMe?\nSubmit to HIM???\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ephesians 5:22 KJV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the\nLord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n hupotasso<\/em> (????????)= primarily a military\nterm, \u201cto rank under\u201d (hupo<\/em>, \u201cunder,\u201d tasso<\/em>, \u201cto arrange\u201d),\ndenotes (a) \u201cto put in subjection, to subject\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWives, obey<\/em>\nyour husbands.\u201d Submit<\/em> is a very mild word. It is a loving word. It\nmeans to respond to your own husband as unto the Lord.
